About Orchis Green: Physical AI data from East India
AI needs the real world. We capture it. Orchis Green is the field-operations arm of the PencilHB team, collecting egocentric video and sensor data for Physical AI from the Kolkata region.
Who we are
Orchis Green Private Limited was incorporated in India in 2019. We are a PencilHB venture, based at 22, Bidyut Palli, Singur, in Hooghly district, West Bengal. Our work is field operations for Physical AI: finding sites, agreeing access, recruiting and managing the people who wear the cameras, capturing real tasks to a client's protocol, and delivering consented, quality-checked data.
We build AI too
Orchis Green is the field-operations arm of the PencilHB team. We build SteelBox, an agentic AI product for structural steel drawing review, now in early-access pilot. So we understand model requirements and QA gates from the builder's side, not just as a vendor.

Why we're in the East
Everyone is in Delhi and Bengaluru. We're in the East. Field operations in Eastern India cost less to run than in the crowded metros. The factories, warehouses, kitchens and workshops here are environments most models have not seen. And no major data collector works in the region yet, so sites and operators are not already committed elsewhere.
Our site network covers factories in Howrah and Liluah, logistics hubs in Dankuni and Rajarhat, the Bantala and Metiabruz leather and garment clusters, and kitchens, workshops and garages across Kolkata.
What we do
- Egocentric data collection: head- and chest-mounted capture of real tasks.
- Physical AI data collection for VLA models, imitation learning and humanoid robots.
- Site onboarding, field operator recruitment and management.
- Quality control with audit trails, and hardware deployment support for robot evaluation runs.
How we work
Consent comes first. Every participant gives written informed consent in Bengali, Hindi or English before a frame is recorded, every site is covered by a written agreement, and footage is used only for the client's model training. Read more on our compliance page.

We work with robotics AI labs in the US, EU and worldwide that need real-world data from environments no one else has captured. Every engagement is scoped as a written proposal with fees, hours and deliverables agreed before work starts.

Most engagements begin with a short conversation about your model, your task categories and your capture protocol. From there we send a written proposal with fees, hours and deliverables agreed before any work starts. For most teams the first project is the 50–100 hour pilot, which turns that proposal into real data within a few weeks.
What makes us different
- We are on the ground. Our team is based in the Kolkata region and works directly with site owners and operators, not through layers of subcontractors.
- We think like builders. Because we ship AI ourselves, we care about consistency, metadata and QA gates as much as your data team does.
